Telmond, Israel -- Avnet ASIC Israel, a subsidiary of Avnet Israel, has successfully accomplished a complex ASIC (application specific integrated circuits) design for Samsung Electronics Korea. The critical project was managed in close collaboration with Philips France and Runcom Israel and the subsequent manufacturing process used cutting-edge 90nm technology.
The successful and timely fulfillment of the design by Avnet ASIC Israel enabled Samsung to meet an important milestone – the launch of advanced new products at APEC 2005* Korea, attended by political and economic leaders of numerous countries. The new Samsung communications products displayed at APEC 2005 – cell phones and personal digital assistants - were the first in the world supporting the new WiBro** technology.
To recognize the contribution to the success of the WiBro project, Samsung Korea has awarded Avnet ASIC Israel an Appreciation Plaque signed by Mr.Kwansoo Lee, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics. The Plaque states: "We deeply appreciate that you overcame all obstacles to success, and completed a task of great difficulty with a flash of wit and so eventually contributed to a greatly successful demonstration at APEC 2005 Korea. We wish your company eternal development and prosperity, and we also pour our whole heart in this plaque of appreciation."
Furthermore, Samsung has chosen to continue working with Avnet ASIC Israel to design new generation WiBro products.
